Skip Ender's Game! (skipendersgame.com)
Instead of giving your money to Orson Scott Card, the virulently homophobic writer and producer of the film Ender's Game, consider attending an alternative event. Several cities around the country are hosting such events, all supported by Geeks OUT.
Our Seattle event, on the opening night of Ender's Game, will host a screening of another film of geek interest - The Gamers: Hands of Fate! The screening will take place at the Calamus Auditorium at Gay City.
For those unaware, The Gamers: Hands of Fate is a fantasy comedy by local production company Zombie Orpheus Entertainment, a sequel to The Gamers: Dorkness Rising. More information here: http://watchthegamers.com/
Suggested donation is $10 and all proceeds will go towards Gay City Health Project, a nonprofit offering free HIV testing along with numerous other programs for the GLBTQ community.
If you aren't able to attend the event, but would like to donate, you can donate directly to Gay City here: https://www.gaycity.org/donate/
