Come spread out with your crafts and make some progress on your creative projects with a bunch of queers*!
This event is in the Social Hall at West Seattle Unitarian Universalist Church. There is plenty of space to spread out with your crafts, so if you have a project you're working on that you just don't have enough space for at home, this is a great chance to bring it and get a lot of work done that might otherwise be difficult to accomplish.

Any kind of art or craft is welcome! Working on a new game? Bring it! Love to sketch/draw/paint? Come do it with us! Sewing, knitting, quilting, crochet, embroidery, papier mache, video editing, doll making, jewelry making, collage, wedding prep, whatever! Bring what you've got, and work on it with a group of queer and queer-friendly folks.
I decided to create this event because I needed some space to spread out with my quilting projects, and most of the local quilting groups are filled with Muggles (aka: people who are Not Like Me.) That leaves me feeling a little out of place and unable to share freely and chit-chat about my life, and I LIKE socializing while I'm working on my projects! So let's socialize and work on our projects together. Crafting and community!
Cost
Free, technically! But I did have to pay to rent the space, so if you have any cash to contribute, it's much appreciated. If I collect enough to rent the space again, I would be happy to organize this as an ongoing event. :)
What to bring
Your crafts and crafting supplies! If your equipment requires power, you might try to bring an extension cord as power outlets are limited in this space. We will be bringing some power strips and cords, but I'm sure more will be needed. Please feel free to bring any snacks you'd like for yourself. If you bring something to share, please label with ingredients for folks with food sensitivities. Kids are welcome, as long as you keep an eye on any that you bring.
What NOT to bring
Please do not bring fragranced, chemical, or toxic materials to use on your project, such as spray adhesives, linseed oil, or essential oils, as these can prevent folks with chemical sensitivities from sharing in our space.
Accessibility
The building, gardens and surrounding areas are smoke-free spaces. Wheelchair access is available for all rooms. Wireless internet is reachable by many rooms in the church. This is a fragrance-free event; please arrive free of perfumes, chemicals, and scented products in order to keep the space accessible to all who wish to attend (and please don't be shy about asking questions beforehand about what this means; we are happy to help!) If you have any specific accessibility concerns, please let me know in advance and I will see what we can do to accommodate you! :)
*You don't necessarily have to identify as queer to attend, but you do have to promise that you have exactly zero problem with people talking about their queer sweeties/partners/relationships, and that you will respect (and use) people's preferred gender pronouns.
