UW Q Center (Husky Union Building Room 315)
Tuesday, May 27, 2014
6:30pm
This is a space for queer and/or trans identified people only, and we ask that non-queer allies do not attend. This space is open to students and non-students, is free, and there is no minimum requirement of how many items attendees must bring (you can bring 0 and still participate!).
If you would like to donate items to the swap, please make sure they are fragrance free (details here: http://bit.ly/Riwfuo). You can also leave your items outside the Queer Student Commission office (Husky Union Building Room 131P) before Sunday, May 25 and we will make them fragrance free for you. Remember to clean out your pockets so you don’t lose anything in the items you donate.
We aim to prioritize queer people who have less access to clothing in this swap—low and no income queers, trans queers, queer people of color, fat queers, disabled queers, queer abuse survivors, etc. If you are a queer person who experiences more privilege and/or is more easily able to access clothing, we ask that you allow other attendees to get first priority in choosing clothes!
Please bring your own bag! We will have a dressing room that can be used in private, but if trying on clothes in a group setting feels awkward to you, we encourage you to wear a swimsuit beneath your clothes.
Any items not taken after the swap will either be donated to New Beginnings (http://www.newbegin.org/, a domestic violence shelter that provides trans women-inclusive services) or kept for free community use in the UW Q Center.
Hope to see you there!~~ <3 (heart)
