You'll enjoy drinks and international hors d'oeuvres as we impart the challenging circumstances faced by LGBTIQ people in the ISIS-occupied areas of Iraq and Syria, as well as the effects of these issues for communities in the greater Middle East.
Kevin Schumacher has led OutRight's efforts to work with and support a variety of groups across the Middle East and serves as the main person documenting the atrocities committed by ISIS. This work was central to the first UN Security Council Meeting on LGBTIQ issues, which focused on the brutal deaths of alleged gays depicted in ISIS propaganda. Schumacher received his M.A. in International Relations from Tehran University and has worked at OutRight since 2006.
