Medicinal Plants in the Food Forest

A practical introduction to the medicinal plants of the food forest, including identification, harvest and use. Taught by herb expert and medicine maker Natalie Hammerquist, of Rainbow Natural Remedies. While walking in the garden, we will learn to identify some common medicinal plants found in the garden, how and when to harvest them, and how and what to use it for. After the walk, Natalie will prepare sample of plants from the food forest to test what everyone learned! Natalie will also touch upon sustainably and respectfully harvesting, safety, and introducing herbs in your garden. Bring a notepad and durable shoes, dress for the weather, and get ready to touch and look closely. Ticket prices: General admission $25. Several tickets are available at a reduced rate of $10 each, if you need it. Two scholarship slots are available. You must select "scholarship" when purchasing your ticket to be eligible.
