Influenced by her Midwest roots, the music speaks to new club ecologies, explored via abstracted rhythms, chaotic ambience and moody jazz elements. As Halo once told to The Wire Magazine, “Techno is a meditative force that can process darkness and remove problems…in their place, the ideal of a non-threatening, transcended, sexually charged headspace emerges”. Physical process and temporal drift are recurring motifs in Halo’s discography. She has released two-full length albums on the London-based electronic label Hyperdub Records. Leo Mayberry Leo Mayberry has been composing, coordinating and performing live video for the last 15 years as KillingFrenzy Visuals. Projects have varied from improvisational explorations with Steve Fisk to complicated theater performance with the Degenerate Art Ensemble. Custom applications in Max/MSP/Jitter, and an eclectic catalog of material to draw from allow the flexibility necessary to thrive in environments from gothic ambiance to breakcore meltdown. Use of mirrors, motors, and non-standard screen compositions are all ways he’s working to shatter the screen and release the image. You're Me “Plant Cell Division is the first You're Me release, and it was recorded on Salt Spring Island just off the coast of Vancouver.
