Following a pre-show all woman huddle at Karin Stevens' recent dance event, the illustrious Beth Fleenor famously uttered "flock yeah!" in response to an inspiring tale of flocking birds and its concomittent corollary to our chamber music/chamber dance impending convocation of talents. Thus was born the spirit of the Flock Yeah which carried musicians and dancers through the merged world of movement and sound to render an inspired evening of performances based around Wayne Horvitz' and Michael Owcharuk's string quartets…plus improviser. In the spirit of extending creative experiences as long as possible and wringing as much celebratory juice out of intensive artistic endeavors, this evening of Flock Yeah will focus on the auditory performative aspects of these chamber music works. With the violinists Paris Hurley and Alex Guy; the violist Heather Bentley; the cellist Maria Scherer Wilson; solo improvisation by the clarinetist Beth Fleenor.
No cover. The musicians are compensated by your donations.
Reservations are available for patrons who are planning to have dinner before and during the show.
