This time it's on the subject of vermouth. Vermouth is not the "one size fits all" bottle that it is frequently treated to be. For example, You shouldn't grab any bottle of red vermouth and expect it to do everything that you think sweet vermouth needs to do and do them well. Due to the histories and traditions of Vermouth producing regions, there are very different styles within the categories of sweet-red, sweet-white, and dry-white.
So, come on by to taste flights of different styles of vermouth while local wine expert, Leith Shenstone, talks about vermouth and learn more about the "when and how" to use different types.
We'll also be providing small bites, as well as a mini-flight of manhattans with the same whiskey, but different vermouths, to show how important it is to match your vermouth with what you're trying to do.
