--Burners--
We do require all fire performers intending to do their own safety shifts at Spinurn to have and get a copy to us, of their FAI Safety Certification. For more information please visit:
http://flowartsinstitute.com/product/fai-fire-safety-course/
If you do not have your Certification you can have a friend who does cover your shift. If orginizers have to cover your shift a 10$ cost in addition to your requested contribution will be required.
Checking in to burn is easy! Find a safety lead or event host to;
--Sign up for your safety shift.
--Make your cash or fuel contributions.
--Do your equipment check, and get your stamp.
You're ready to burn with us! For those of you who have not done safety before you can shadow someone who has. Just ask the Front Desk if you need a little help. And please remember these important notes
-Fire performance/practice in the Fire Circle only.
-Fuel containers and dip stations are only permitted in the fuel depot. Please drop your fuel with the front desk staff.
-Always follow your fire safety's instructions while burning.
-Check in with the Front Desk to coordinate large or out of the ordinary performances
-No empty fuel cans in the trash, please take them with you!
Let's all work together to make sure everybody stays safe.
There is always a burn first aid kit and fire extinguisher nearer to the fuel dump. Please make sure you are aware of proper safety precautions (spinning off, fuels, non-flammable clothing) When we are out there, sometimes we get lots of people around. The first time one of us (or even worse our audience) gets hurt it's going to shut down.
Big thanks to everybody who has or will help out volunteering making these events safe and fun for everyone :)
