Avenue LGBTQ is a musical parody of the Tony Award winning Avenue Q and tells the timeless story of a recent college graduate trying to find his way in the world. Inspired by the beloved children’s show Sesame Street, this show creates a puppet-filled world that is a little more reflective of the difficult, R-rated realities that we face when we learn that real life isn’t as simple as we dreamed it might be – but it suggests that perhaps life is all the more colorful and worthwhile for it.
Note: This parody is specifically written to encompass the specific challenges (and jokes) of the LGBTQ community. That being said, this is not a statement or educational piece and is designed for entertainment only. There may be things that some people find offensive (There is actually a song called Everyone’s a Little Bit Racist/Sexist). The show features many puppets, but don’t let that fool you, Avenue LGBTQ is R-rated, featuring adult topics, offensive language, and an onstage portrayal of puppet sex. 21+ only.
