As the sun sets on July 30, Volunteer Park will slowly come to life and "awaken" with light and sound. The evening begins and ends at the amphitheater where Silent Season, an ambient musical showcase, will orchestrate the entire event with beautiful, deep, natural sounds to delight the auditory senses. Local artists will install and project multiple light installations all over the park for you to explore. An evening of light and sound. Volunteer Park like you've never experienced it before.
Wander. Relax. Play. Wonder.
Lusio is meant to be playfully experienced in 2 hours and is free, family-friendly, open to all, and for one night only.
"How to experience Lusio?"
Playfully! Show up around 7:30 to grab a spot on the lawn in front of the amphitheater for optimal relaxation. Got a crazy glowing outfit to wear? BRING IT! Dress in your most glowing, LED, light up attire to get into the spirit and contribute to the whole atmosphere! Wrap your dog in L-wire and let your kids wear all the sticks they can handle. Bring your LED hulu hoops and LED poi for the LED coral. Be prepared to wander and explore the corners of the park to find the art living under trees and in the gardens. Lusio is fully intereactive, family friendly, community driven event so participation is encouraged!

Why Lusio?
--- To provide an opportunity for light artists to have their work shown in a public setting.
--- To showcase light art as an art form in an accesible setting.
--- To delight the senses. To Engage. To Play.
This form of art has started to arrive and percolate in the Pacific Northwest for a while now, but usually you will only see this art form if you attend an event like Burning Man or the new Seattle Arts Fair, both which cost money to attend.
Lusio is a free, family friendly event making it availble to any person of any dempgraphic that wants to attend and have their senses delighted. Because art should be accesible to everyone!
